IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER
DELIVERY DETAILS
From the moment we process your order, it will be at least 2 weeks and probably 3 before your table is ready here at our warehouse. If it is more than 4 then something truly terrible has happened - serious machine failures, fire, madness etc.
From that moment until actual delivery, (if you have decided you want us to deliver), will be normally within 1-2 weeks if you are in mainstream England, i.e.: close to a major motorway. West Country, South and North Wales and Lowland Scotland will take longer, but usually no more than 3-4 weeks after completion of the table. Highlands and Lowlands, Mid Wales and Ireland, are much longer and trickier and pricier. Otherwise, £45 to most places. £30 to Surrey and Non CC London. As our drivers are normally alone, we would ask/hope that someone can give them a hand unloading and carrying into your house. If this is not possible, the driver will do his best BUT MAY SIMPLY HAVE TO LEAVE THE TABLE IN A GARAGE OR HALLWAY, if the table is a big one, (OR OUTSIDE IN A WORST CASE SCENARIO). If you want a quicker service, then we can organise this with a specialist carrier (again, these will probably be a one man situation). In either case - contact us for a firm quote.
In the near future we hope to have a simple scale of charges, which will be dependent solely on the size of table(s) ordered.
FLATPACKING
For ease of transport and getting in and out of awkwardly sized rooms, our taper leg, square leg and farmhouse leg tables have removable legs. The farmhouse legs unscrew (see pics on that page) a few inches down from the rails. The square and taper leg tables have legs that unbolt via butterfly nuts on the inside of the rails (again see relevant page pics). If for some reason (such as maximum strength possible for 4 regular person plus table dancing sessions) you want fixed legs, then this is possible for the same price. We don't recommend it as for most situations it just isn't necessary and sooner or later you may want to move that table to somewher... tricky. Your table will therefore probably arrive flatpacked and you will have to fit the legs. No tools/training or plans are necessary.
REFECTORY AND COFFEE FLATBACK
Exceptions to this flatpack rule are the square leg Coffee tables and the Refectory tables. These can arrive in either one of 3 ways - neither making any difference to the cost of the table.
1.In one piece - might be expensive transport wise if it's a big table.
2.With the top separate from the base, ready to be screwed on in situ (less expensive transport costs).
3.With the legs separate in 2 pairs held together by the short stretchers, the main stretcher loose and the top and railings together acting as a holder for the forgoing. This is the cheapest and easiest way to transport but does need more work reassembling. If you were really awful at D.I.Y. you might find this a little difficult (see pics. of Ref page).
FINISH AND APPEARANCE
We've tried to show throughout this site what the tables look like, but the thing to remember is that because they are made out of reclaimed wood, every one is different. Some will have hardly any marks, knots, splits at all. Some may have lots. If you want a uniform product, we are not the company for you. All we guarantee is that your table will be strong, will be made to your specification and will give years of service.
Some repro furniture places offer to distress pieces but we prefer to avoid this - distressing can be too subjective. Either an object has been whipped too often or too little with an old bike chain, dragged across a gravel car park the wrong way or just simply not what the customer expects. If you really want that shabby chic/lived in look, then have children and let them spill things.
Likewise with paint finishes, all we offer is WHITE. White legs and rails, or white all over. Even this is a bit risky as our 'white' might not be the same as the faded bone colour from Tuscany you were hoping for. You'll have to trust us here or buy the table without any finish (cheaper) and paint it yourself (probably cheaper).
